The purpose of Asian Students in America (ASiA) is to serve as a unified community where students of various ethnic backgrounds may come together to promote unity, fellowship, professionalism, and stronger Asian cultural awareness.

Founded in 2008, Journey to the East is a non-profit, annual event organized by various Asian-interest organizations. It has emerged as the biggest Asian cultural awareness event at the University of South Florida. One of Journey to the East’s missions is to display the diversity and richness of the Asian culture to the student body and the community of Tampa, Florida. In conjunction with raising awareness, it aims to promote unification between different Asian-interest organizations and provides an opportunity for them to work as one.
